JMG Tennis Player from Arden Hills Wins Wildcard to Men’s US Open

Never accomplished before by an unseeded player until now, Collin Altamirano, a tennis player at JMG Tennis Academy at Arden Hills, has earned a Wildcard to the Men’s US Open with a win at the USTA National Championship. Led by Academy Director Joseph Morris Gilbert, two top JMG Academy players from Arden Hills, Collin Altamirano and Jenson Brooksby, competed in national tournaments both taking home first place victories this weekend.


In Kalamazoo, Michigan, Collin Altamirano was the one to watch in the Boys 18s Division at the 71st USTA National Championships.

Arden Hills Presents Wellness Seminar on Overcoming Back Pain

It’s a sad truth that at some point in our lives nearly all of us will struggle with back pain that interferes with work, routine daily activities or sports and recreation.

The good news is that normal life after back injuries does exist!  However, there is important groundwork that needs to be done and is the topic of a special “Wellness Education Seminar: Living Life Beyond Lower Back Pain” on Wednesday, 7/31, from 6 to 7 p.m. presented by Arden Hills Strength & Fitness Director Robert Linkul.  With a solid foundation and an exercise routine implemented into your daily practice, it’s very possible that you could be able to resume your daily life functions with limited or even no pain.

Mulch Madness returns to McKinley Park

Grab your wheelbarrow and join the after-work mulching party at McKinley Park. Volunteers are needed to help care for the park by applying mulch rings around the park trees. If you don’t have a wheelbarrow, just show up! The Sacramento Tree Foundation will have extra wheelbarrows, gloves and rakes.
