Hunter Ranch announces The Impossible Open – the toughest test in Central Coast golf

Hunter Ranch announces The Impossible Open – the toughest test in Central Coast golf

Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles, the Central Coasts premier golf facility, announces its annual Impossible Open on Sunday, June 21. This popular event is designed to mimic the same playing conditions U.S. Open golfers will experience on the same day.

“Look, this event isn’t for everyone,” warns John Carson, Hunter Ranch general manager. “But if you really want to test your golf skills, and experience U.S. Open conditions, we invite you to come out and play. Despite the despicable difficulty we devise, it’s still a lot of fun. It’s just not for wimps.”

The Hunter Ranch course will be set up to play as long as possible, with tee markers set back to the absolute “tips.” Holes on each green are positioned in their most difficult locations. And, the greens will roll at U.S. Open speed – 11 or 12 on the stimpmeter. Also, the rough will be as long and thick as possible, especially around the greens. Golfers’ physical and mental skills will be challenged.
