Calling all pasta lovers!  If words like penne, manicotti and lasagna make your mouth water, the next “Live With the Chef” cooking class at Arden Hills on Wednesday, September 24, at 6 p.m. is right for you!  

From healthiest ingredients to the freshest brands, you’ll find out about the best pastas available in today’s marketplace and learn new cooking tips to make your pasta dishes even more perfect. Plus, you’ll watch an old world style marinara being prepared just in time for early fall. This special monthly cooking class is focused on incorporating fresh ingredients designed for a healthy and well balanced diet. You're invited to join this ongoing adult cooking series - couples are welcome, too! Due to the popularity of this class, space is limited and reservations are required.

CNU Summer Health Science Camp opens next week!

At the Summer Health Science Camp at California Northstate University, students won't be making any volcanoes out of baking soda and vinegar.  Rather, the courses focus on real-life application of medical principles, helping high school students strengthen both their understanding of those subjects, as well as their resumes.

The team of experts behind the Camp cover a huge range of topics, from health care laws including a "mock trial", to Emergency Triage "mock disaster", where the campers will get professional wound makeup to simulate an explosion with students as "victims."

Innovative Broadway art project enters beta phase

Broadway Augmented, an art project that explores augmented reality, is now in the final testing phase. Public artworks have been created for the sophisticated, high-tech undertaking – but only in the virtual world.

The project is a partnership of Sacramento State, the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC), the Greater Broadway Partnership District and the Urban Land Institute.
