Open Garden in the Sacramento Old City Cemetery

Open Garden in the Sacramento Old City Cemetery

The gardens of the Historic City Cemetery will be in full bloom during our annual Open Garden. The fragrance of the old roses of the award-winning Historic Rose Garden will fill the air as 500 roses clamber up trees, cover archways and bloom on big shrubs in this unique 19th century setting.  Perennial and native plant gardens will also be featured. The day begins with a sale of rare heritage rose plants and continues with free tours of the gardens and cemetery, a Silent Auction, and sales of rose merchandise.

The cemetery is located at 1000 Broadway, Sacramento. Free parking is available in the lot at 10th & Broadway, across the street from the 10th Street entrance.  Tours are free; however, donations and proceeds will benefit cemetery preservation projects.

I am so excited to share this with you guys, it just happens to be the most fantastic stop motion six second vine video and was completely directed and produced by a rather large team of people who do this sort of thing for a living - in real life!

A Few of My Favorite Things

A Few of My Favorite Things

We are well into the week long event for my Joss & Main collaboration and there are still some amazing pieces listed in the lovely sale they curated around my design aesthetic. The sale only runs through Tuesday so if you would like to check it out, you can sign up right here and view all of the great things up for grabs at screaming good prices! There are several sofas priced so low that it is blowing my mind, and it has me thinking I might focus on a replacing my sofa, sooner rather than later... especially since a certain someone had a little party with a permanent marker, to the tune of total destruction, a few weeks back. So there is that to be dealt with, eek... Read More

Cemetery Adventures for Children (3rd Grade and younger)

Cemetery Adventures for Children (3rd Grade and younger)

Bring your kids to this fun Cemetery Tour on Saturday, September, 20 at 10:00 a.m.

Do you have a child who is interested in the cemetery but would rather see bugs than burial records? Perhaps they'd like to take a peek into a mausoleum, learn about the animals that make their home here or hear a short tale about the exciting days of old. If so, this tour is for them. Specifically designed for children third grade and younger, this tour is more of an informal stroll to introduce kids to the many wonders the cemetery has to offer.

The cemetery is located at 1000 Broadway, Sacramento. Free parking is available in the lot at 10th & Broadway, across the street from the 10th Street entrance. Tours are free; however, donations are appreciated and benefit cemetery preservation. For more information, call 916-448-0811 or 916-264-7839.
