Sutter Medical Center Earns National Accreditation

Sutter Medical Center Earns National Accreditation

The bariatric surgery program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has been accredited as a Level 1 facility under the Bariatric Surgery Center Network (BSCN) Accreditation Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The accreditation demonstrates the surgery program’s commitment to delivering the highest quality care for its bariatric surgery patients.

To earn the accreditation, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento met the essential criteria to ensure its ability to support a bariatric surgical care program and the institutional performance requirements outlined by the BSCN Accreditation Standards. Accredited bariatric surgery programs provide both the hospital  resources necessary for optimal care of morbidly obese patients and the support and resources necessary to address the entire spectrum of care and needs of bariatric patients, both pre-and postoperatively.

Try Alternative Treatments For Improved Health

Traditional healthcare normally takes priority over alternative treatments, but some alternatives may be worth considering.  One of them is aromatherapy, which makes use of essential oils and dry herbal / plant material to relieve stress, fatigue, cold and flu symptoms, and others.  Sacramento cosmetologist and aesthetician Laura DuPriest stated that "essential oils work physiologically, but they also work psychologically because people relate the smell to other experiences," adding that studies on its effectiveness are sparse.
