Weekly walking club kicks off Thursday in downtown Sacramento

Weekly walking club kicks off Thursday in downtown Sacramento

Back by popular demand, Kaiser Permanente’s Walk to Thrive walking club resumes for a new season Thursday in downtown Sacramento when the Capitol Mall Farmers Market reopens for the season. By walking a mile with a Kaiser Permanente physician, downtown employees can get their exercise, health information and produce all in one stop each week.

The program provides a chance for people working downtown to leave their desks and take part in coordinated walk through downtown Sacramento. It’s an easy, fun and low impact way to get exercise during their work day. A different Kaiser Permanente physician will lead the walk each week and be available to answer health questions.

The kickoff event on May 8 will begin at 10am, followed by the walk at 11:45am. Sacramento Kings dancers and Kings mascot Slamson will be there to meet and greet all the walkers.
