Sacramento Museums to Showcase Variety & Diversity With Interactive Booth at the Fair

For the first time ever, the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) will offer an interactive and fun booth at the California State Fair (July 11-27, 2014) in an effort to showcase the variety and diversity of offerings available in our region.   State Fair guests are invited to imagine, explore and discover more about local museums and destinations at the visually-exciting Sacramento Museums booth that will be located in Building A on the bottom floor next to the State Fair Post Office.

In addition to providing helpful information about all 30 SAM member museums, the Sacramento Museums booth will include a number of hands-on activities every day that include the following:

Shelters across the country are bracing themselves for the increase of stray animals that escape the safety of their homes in fear of fireworks.  While July 4th may be a time for BBQ’s, fireworks and homemade ice cream, it is less thrilling for the family pet. Loud booms and the smell of acrid smoke is often enough to instill panic in some animals, who will do anything to escape the noise and perceived threat.  Area pet lovers are encouraged to take some precautions in advance of the big day and the Front Street Animal Shelter is offering simple, easy and affordable solutions to keep our four legged friends safe.

Hip Service will perform live this Sunday at Swanston Park:  2350 Northrop Avenue in Sacramento. 

Hip Service is an 11-member band that has won numerous awards over the past nine years, including Best Dance Band (National Music Awards), Best Party Band (Sacramento Magazine), Best Wedding Band (San Francisco Magazine), and several others.  They are known for their high energy while performing numerous R&B, Motown, and classic rock hits.
