Dameron Hospital Offering Free Flu Vaccines Saturday Feb. 9th | Community
Dameron Hospital will be offering free flu vaccinations Saturday February 9th beginning at 10 AM to 2 PM at the main entrance to Dameron Hospital at 525 Acacia Street. Due to the seasonality of the flu vaccine the Hospital is offering free vaccinations until the supply of vaccine has been depleted. All community members, age 3 and over, are encouraged to participate if your family has not previously received a vaccination.
Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even people with a history of great health can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. Seasonal flu vaccine protects against three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming seasons.
The free community vaccination project is being coordinated by Dameron Hospital’s Carolyn Sanders, RN and Cheri Shirey, RN Director of Emergency services. Please follow the signs when entering the Hospital Saturday morning to be directed to our registered nurses providing the free vaccinations. For more information, the public is invited to call Carolyn Sanders at (209) 461-3136 or visit Dameron Hospital’s website- www.dameronhospital.otg.
