‘Tis the season to give thanks for hanging out with the Governor in his childhood home!

Last month, GOTG had the incredible honor of attending the Governor’s “Light Up the Night” event  at the 16 and H Street Mansion (Facebook).

California State Parks and the California State Historic Governor’s Mansion Foundation held a special unveiling of the completion of the third floor restoration project, the installation of a state-of-the-art outdoor lighting system and a new environmentally-friendly irrigation system for the Mansion gardens. Dear McKinley Park Volunteers:

Thanks so much to all of you for your volunteer help in keeping McKinley Park clean and beautiful.

We wanted to let you know that our next volunteer day will be Saturday, January 4, from 10 am to 1 pm in the McKinley Rose Garden. (At H and 33rd Streets) 

We will be joining with the Sacramento Rose Society volunteers for the garden’s annual prune-a-thon.  No experience is required as expert rosarians will be there to teach volunteers how to prune. Help will also be needed in removing the rose bush trimmings, raking where needed in the garden, and pruning the bushes around the garden... Read More

Community Radio Studio Remodeled, Hope for New FM Station Soon

While “The Voice” radio producers eagerly await word on Access Sacramento’s application with the FCC for approval to launch a new Low-Power FM radio station in midtown, their anticipation for even quicker improvements has already come true.

Radio Coordinator Shane Carpenter has completed ordering equipment for a full-remodel of Studio Two, with additional enhancements to upgrade elements of Studio One as well.
