FREE New Year's Eve Sky Spectacular - 12/31!

FREE New Year's Eve Sky Spectacular - 12/31!

Following a popular tradition 13 years in the making, visitors to Old Sacramento will be treated to a free New Year’s Eve celebration along the historic waterfront.  Prior to the two dazzling firework shows scheduled to light up the night sky at 9 p.m. and midnight, the festive community event also features live music, food and drink vendors and a variety of live entertainment all evening from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  There will be kid-friendly entertainment provided under the tent in the early evening at Waterfront Park stage followed up later by a crowd-pleasing 70’s and 80’s cover band. The free celebratory evening activities are produced by the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau and sponsored by the City of Sacramento.

The special children’s programming will feature the Radio Disney Rockin’ Road Crew and Swift Country—a tribute to Taylor Swift.

The Hats, Scarves & Glove Effort

Seven years ago, area residents Viancia Roberson, Patricia Goree-Richards, Kisha Gunte, Terry Taylor, Viviana Carloss and Paula Washington had the desire to do something that would “make them feel good.” With the help of their kids, and donations from their friends, family, and coworkers, they created “The Hats, Scarves, & Glove Effort” to provide the less fortunate with the clothing they need to stay warm during the cold winter months.

Recently, the Effort has partnered with The City of Sacramento, the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Quinn Cottages, and Loaves & Fishes to make their clothes drive more effective. Since then the number of items donated and volunteers has increased tremendously.

Partners in Philanthropy and Why We Should All “Be Like Mort”

I had the opportunity to attend Sacramento Business Journal’s “Partners in Philanthropy” recently, where 3fold was honored because of our philanthropic works in the region. Just one of the 72,973,108 reasons I love working at 3fold is because philanthropy is a huge part in what we do. It’s part of our culture.
