Governor’s Mansion Presents “The Magic of Spring, A Garden Affair” May 18

The California State Historic Governor’s Mansion Foundation in cooperation with the Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park (SHP) are proud to present a special fundraising event titled “The Magic of Spring, A Garden Affair at the Mansion” on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The celebratory evening event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.

Kiehl's Celebrates Grand Opening with Edible Sac High Benefit

Kiehl’s Since 1851, the venerable New York-based purveyor of fine quality skin and hair care preparations, will celebrate the grand opening of its modern apothecary retail store at Arden Fair, the first in the greater Sacramento area, with a special event featuring its local charity partner, “Edible Sac High”, coordinated by Greenwise Joint Venture, which is modeled after Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyard.

It is the only program of its kind at a high school level in the U.S.

Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice Finishes April 14th

A BBQ celebration Sunday hosted by Folsom Harley-Davidson marks the conclusion of a two week cross country and back ride for Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice.  The Army Of Angels,the International Child Abuse Prevention Task Force, Folsom HOG and dozens of other groups will be in attendance at the event scheduled from Noon until 3:00 P.M.  The runs accomplishments, reviewing the current call to action over the next year to better protect children and making some major announcements about Kross Kountry-4-Kids 2014. will be covered.

On March 22nd, 2013 Kit Carson Middle School held their 5th annual Multicultural day festival. I had the privilege of being a guest speaker at this event, but I think the real gift was witnessing the kids being exposed to so many different cultures. Most of the kids were about twelve or thirteen, and at this age they are still very impressionable thus this exposure is extremely beneficial to their growing experiences.
